DR. JOSÉ MORENO. LL.M. HARVARD
My professional life has been marked by my LLM at Harvard University. Once I returned to Paraguay, I led a very successful corporate law firm project, based on ideas I brought with me from my stay at the United States. Some time ago I founded ALTRA, with a strong emphasis on the human factor and its creativity, capitalizing in this firm years of experience leading other projects in which I was at the head of high performing teams (such as President of the Paraguayan Institute of Banking Law, the American Association of Private International Law, and the American School of Asuncion, among other organizations).
I have been working actively for years in topics related to commercial, banking, financial, energy, telecommunication, arbitration and related fields of law.
Additionally, as a part time activity, I dedicate time to teaching, both at Paraguayan universities- in addition to the Judicial School and the countries’ Diplomatic Academy-, as in foreign universities such as Heidelberg and Paris 2.
I also had the privilege to actively participate in global and regional codifying processes in the fields of contractual, financial, arbitration and private international law. In my country, I have worked in drafting numerous laws and regulations regarding these areas.
In the field of arbitration, I am a member of the Arbitral Court of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and of an Annulment Tribunal in investment arbitrations (CIADI). Additionally, I actively practice arbitration.
A few years ago, I founded the CEDEP, with the objective of achieving a substantial improvement, from a nonprofit academic entrepreneurship, of the normative framework and the legal culture of the country. The organization has had relations with several other global and regional large scale organizations, and has worked in numerous training, research and transformation projects, having achieved great recognition within and outside Paraguay.
I have also actively promoted the implementation in Paraguay of projects such as TECHO, a non-governmental organization of a positive social impact, and the Paraguayan chapter of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
On my free time, I enjoy playing sports, particularly soccer and waterski, also, and above all, I enjoy the company of my wife and my daughters and sons.
I have had years of experience working at the judiciary, at first as a judicial officer and later, as a private attorney.
in the year 2001, I participated in the process which led to the first ISO 9001:2000 Certification in a Latin-American law firm, as Quality Coordinator. In the same character, I now lead the ISO Quality Department at ALTRA, which has obtained the certification in a record time period for Paraguayan businesses.
I love what I do at the office. My activities are focused on the coordination of ALTRA’S quality systems.
On my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family. I love to read and I do gymnastics on a regular basis.

FELICITA ARGAÑA. LL.M. LSE
I am proud to be a member of Altra Legal’s team, in which professionalism and individual quality are consistent throughout all its members and where the law is seen as a vital tool for businesses.
We enjoy doing what we do and try to let that show, as this is one of our most important distinctions.

I firmly believe that quality of work must be a distinctive value we add to everything we do- and as someone I have a lot of appreciation for said- “everything we do and above all how we do it is part of our curriculum.” Quality and excellence are-with no doubt- the non-negotiable values for me and the entire team at Altra Legal.
Currently, I coordinate the arbitration department and I also am part of the corporate department of Altra Legal. In addition, I dedicate to teaching in the subjects of obligations and contract law at the Universidad Nacional de Asunción.
ESTEBAN ACHA. LL.M. UNIVERSIDAD DE SALAMANCA
I am a lawyer from the Law School of the Universidad Nacional de Asunción, tittle that gave me the first and general impression that the law consists simply on defending the interests of others who find their rights violated.
The profession, – which I have been performing from different areas, as trial management and corporate law – taught me that the only way for these rights to be effectively protected if to conceive them as our own. The exercise of the profession necessarily entails empathy and complete loyalty to the client, who genuinely places their trust in the exercise of the protection of their rights.
I strive daily to guarantee those who place their trust in my professional responsibility the absolute integrity and honesty in my duties, values that even though they should abound in the practice of law, they are scarce in the forum, but in my conviction considered inalienable, having as objective that the teams that I accompany and lead do not deviate from such pillars of behavior.
I believe in family as mainstay of all the society, and in mine as the support of my daily activities. To them, my friends and the cultivation of the spirit through sports I spend all of my free time.

I am a fan of reading, which I consider is essential to acquiring the knowledge that allows us to provide solutions that minimize the risks of our clients and increases their profits.
I enjoy argumentation and legal logic in general, which I consider play an indispensable role in helping ensure our clients win their cases. To make sure that my argumentation is up to the level of the complexity of the cases, I am constantly seeking to research and update my knowledge.
In these years, I cultivated and developed skills, qualities, aptitudes, and techniques to improve my work.
Having initiative and acting in collaboration with professionals of such high human quality has generated enriching experiences.
For me, being a person with practical and, above all, respectful skills has a lot to do with the training I received at Altra Legal.
Finally, I emphasize my commitment to serve every client who comes and chooses Altra Legal.
