Altra Legal’s Tech & Innovation Department was launched to strategically support innovative companies, investors, and corporations across the technology ecosystem.
Led by Gabriela Melgarejo, our team combines strong legal expertise with a strategic understanding of digital business models and new-economy trends.
We work with a comprehensive, cross-practice approach, collaborating closely with all areas of the firm to deliver solutions that jointly address the legal, corporate, and regulatory dimensions of each project.

Intellectual Property and Innovation
In an environment where intangible assets define corporate value, the protection and management of intellectual property are strategic drivers of growth and competitiveness.
Within the department, our specialized Intellectual Property team advises on the comprehensive protection, management, and enforcement of creative and technological assets.
The practice covers:
- Registration and enforcement of trademarks, industrial designs and models, copyrights and related rights, invention and utility patents, software, and digital works.
- Drafting licensing, franchising, and technology transfer agreements.
- Advice on industrial property and copyright matters, as well as brand international expansion strategies.
- Representation in administrative and judicial disputes before intellectual property offices and specialized courts.
